What does ICL stand for?
ICL stands for Implantable Collamer Lens, also called an implantable contact lens. The EVO ICL is made from Collamer, a soft, flexible, biocompatible material that works naturally with your eye's chemistry and is virtually undetectable once placed.
Am I a candidate if I was told I'm not right for LASIK?
Very possibly. EVO ICL was designed for patients who fall outside the safe range for LASIK, including those with higher myopia, thin corneas, or dry eye. A free consultation includes a complete evaluation to determine your best path forward.
Is EVO ICL removable?
Yes. The EVO ICL can be removed or replaced by your surgeon at any time if your vision changes or if you later need cataract surgery. This is one of the most significant advantages of EVO ICL over procedures that permanently alter corneal tissue.
How long does the procedure take?
The EVO ICL procedure is a brief outpatient visit. You'll receive numbing drops so you're comfortable throughout, and most patients notice improved vision right away.
Will I feel or see the lens?
No. Once placed, the EVO ICL is virtually undetectable by both sight and feel. You won't be aware of its presence in daily life.
How long do results last?
The EVO ICL is designed to provide permanent vision correction. If you eventually develop cataracts, the lens can be removed at the time of cataract surgery since your natural lens was never altered.
Does EVO ICL cause dry eye?
No. Unlike LASIK, EVO ICL does not cut or reshape corneal tissue, so it does not disrupt the corneal nerves that regulate tear production. It's frequently recommended for patients who already have dry eye concerns.
Can I finance EVO ICL?
Yes. Price Vision Group offers flexible payment plans through CareCredit. FSA and HSA funds are also accepted, which can meaningfully reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Your care team will walk through every option at your free consultation.
